At ‘We The Women event,’ Radhika Apte, cleared up how the industry imagined and defined her as a “seductress” after that distinct role in Badlapur. When the show host questioned Radhika, the kind of movies she has rejected, the heroine said, “Comedy franchise films and sex comedies. I was offered a sex comedy after I did Badlapur.”
Radhika then further added, “Because I stripped and I had done a short film, Ahalya, they said ‘you are regularly playing the role of an enchantress.’ I said, ‘can you tell me where’? They said Ahalya and Badlapur. I have been declining so much work. I don’t know if it is good for me or no.”
The actress also explained how the anti-feminist culture in Bollywood strikes her. “I don’t think they are talking about equality in many times. I don’t find myself in compliance with a lot of people. It is confining. I sometimes question whether I am a sarcastic, pessimistic person or am I not seeing something,” Radhika said, adding further, “I feel people, in the name of ‘liberal’, write anything.
