Cybercriminals are using celebrity gossips and pop music as a bait to take advantage of innocent Australian targets.
“Deceptive practices such as fake websites promising free content can lead unsuspecting consumers to malicious sites purpose-built to steal valuable, personal information or take over devices,” McAfee’s Cyber Safety Ambassador Alex Merton-McCann said.
“Now more than ever, it is crucial consumers stay vigilant and always think before they click to protect their digital lives.”
But Adele is not the only star whose name is being used by cybercriminals in the past year. McAfee issued the top ten list of the most dangerous celebrities to Australian internet users.

McAfee also announced the top five most dangerous Australian celebrities to search for online.
