After the exit of Hollywood superstar and former Batman Ben Affleck exit, there were many actors who were in line of Batman. Many names rumored in the media but now it’s officially announced that Robert Pattinson is the new Batman. Batman is a critical franchise for Warner Bros., and the studio didn’t want to endanger it. There is a chance that The Batman could turn into a mini-franchise of its own.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman, now officially starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, is rumored to also include Robin. After Ben Affleck officially left the character of Batman behind following his appearance in Justice League, speculation ran hot and heavy over which Hollywood star would next Gotham’s Dark Knight.

The superhero drama begins pre-production soon and the filming is expected to start by the end of 2019 or early 2020. Reeves will also produce The Batman with his Planet of the Apes collaborator Dylan Clark. The film has a release date of June 25, 2021.
According to the news, this version of Batman will see Bruce Wayne as a younger man, in his “formative” years as the hero. The deal being worked out with Pattinson is reportedly including “options on at least two more films.”
Pattinson’s first film as the crime fighter Bruce Wayne, who assumes a full-body black costume to battle baddies in Gotham City, will be titled The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves. Pattinson broke out on the Hollywood scene after playing vampire Edward Cullen in Twilight series. But after the franchise ended, the actor switched to indie projects with films such as Cosmopolis, Good Time and most recently High Life.
Pattinson is set to work with filmmaker Christopher Nolan on his next Tenet, which also features John David Washington and Elizabeth Debicki. In 2019, he will be seen in the films The Lighthouse, The King for Netflix and Waiting for the Barbarians.
