Well, both the superstars are the gem of Hollywood. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are joining forces and coming together on the big screen yet again for Ridley Scott’s latest movie, The Last Duel. The story is about two knights, and duel fight. It is a true story of crime, scandal, and trial by Combat in Medieval France. The film will focus about two dueling warriors in 14th century France.
According to the script, it follows a man who goes to war and returns to discover a friend of his has raped his wife. No one will believe the woman, and the soldier appeals to the king of France and says he wants to fight a duel to the death to decide the man’s fat. The most importantly this fight becomes the last legally sanctioned duel in France.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon
Earlier, both actors appear together on big screen in 1997’s for ‘Good Will Hunting’. And that film earned the two actors an Oscar for original screenplay. Since then, they have worked together on many movies.
The new project also marks a reunion between Damon and Scott, who previously collaborated on 2015’s The Martian. The Last Duel will be co-produced by Scott Free Productions and Damon and Affleck’s Pearl Street Films.
On the other hand, The Last Duel is entirely different from their earlier film. Scott’s film is a revenge story between two best friends. The knight Jean de Carrouges (Ben) and the squire Jacques Le Gris (Matt) will fight the last duel in France. Moreover, the film based on Eric Jager‘s novel.
