Among the top rated and much loved films of Karan Johar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of those. And now fans are excited to know that the director is going to make a sequel of his hit film. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ is on the top of the list. Released in 1998, the movie still remains people’s favorite and it is one of the most-loved Karan Johar movies. Earlier, the super doper hit film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji. It is arguably one of the most iconic films. Now, Karan Johar is ready for the Kuch Kuch Hota hai sequel and importantly, he has cast in mind.
Currently, on the event of special of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in Australia, Karan was asked about the cast of this reboot film. And to a please surprise, he reportedly said that he would like to have Ranveer Singh in for Shahrukh Khan, for Rani Mukerji’s role, Janhvi Kapoor and for Kajol’s role, Alia Bhatt.

While, getting in to the details, the director revealed that Ranveer Singh is mad and has intensity and passion like SRK. Therefore he is perfect to play Rahul’s role. On the other coming to Kajal’s role, he said, “Alia Bhatt as Anjali, has the similarities and Janhvi Kapoor as Tina because she has the poise and balance of the part.
Besides that Karan says that there is n scrip, yet he only had the scenes in his mind. Well, for the first film he said the he did not even have a script when he went to meet Shahrukh Khan.
He further added Shahrukh and Kajol had promised that they will do his first film. “So I remember going to him and narrating a scene. I told him if you like this one scene then I will narrate the entire film, which was completely a lie.”
While, narrating the story for the 90s Kuch Kuch Hota hai, Karan said, “Tabu, Urmila (Urmila Matondkar), Aishwarya (Aishwarya Rai) turned me down. And Ash was the only one who was polite to call me back. It took months to cast for Rani’s part after Aditya Chopra recommended her.”
