The film sets some 70 years before Harry Potter went to the British boarding school and learned to become a wizard, the film is a sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to find them, which made $814 million at the global box office after it was released in November 2016. Well Johnny Depp is outstanding with his role.

The Theme

The stars of “Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald,” is written by J.K. Rowling. The fantasy film is about a dark wizard who becomes a divisive leader in the magical world. The film is set in the “Harry Potter” universe and finds Johnny Depp’s character, Gellert Grindelwald. He seeks to gain power and divide “pureblood” wizards from humans in 1920s Paris.

The Crimes of Grindelwald is a sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, itself a spin-off of the Harry Potter saga. Fans admire the film’s nostalgia above all else. The trailers is teased a return to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with the reappearances of many Potter characters. Jude Law plays a young Albus Dumbledore. On the other hand Johnny Depp will play a villain role in the movie.

The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second of five planned movies in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise. The fantasy, drama and super natural film will hits theaters on 16 November.

Johnny and Fans Reaction

Warner Bros held the first round of screenings for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and reactions have been shared online. While most of them come from fans, and hence should be taken with a pinch of salt. The few members of the press who’ve seen the film have also been largely pleased with it.

Fans have been near-unanimous in their praise for the film, which they said will make die-hard Potter-heads very happy. But a couple of critics have noted the film’s ‘overstuffed’ plot. Star Johnny Depp, who plays the titular dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, would be pleased with the reaction his performance is getting.

Depp has been a source of tremendous controversy for the makers. Both writer JK Rowling and director David Yates rising to his defense amid reports of his abusive behavior. “Johnny Depp is a real artist,” Yates continued. “He’s created several characters that have really resonated in our popular culture. He’s a really brilliant, brilliant actor.
