Well, the 71st Emmys Awards special night came o end with pleasures, joys, emotions and happiness tears in eyes. Like all other awards, some actors are happy, some actors are determined and yet other makes a history, that’ what the Emmys awards are about. The 71st Emmy Awards is honoring the best of television at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. The Emmy nominations were announced a few weeks ago to reveal that Game of Thrones as bagged the highest nominations. With over 32 nods, the HBO show has been nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Apart from GoT, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Chernobyl bagged 20 and 19 nominations, respectively.
While starting with the first winners in drama series, Fleabag,” Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s biting and moving Amazon series, dominated the comedy category. It beats the longtime Emmy favorite “Veep” for top comedy.

Feabag won 4 Emmy’s including Outstanding Comedy Series and an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series win for Phoebe. On the other hand, Chernobyl took home the Emmy for Outstanding Limited Series. When it comes to the acting categories, Billy Porter made history when he became the first openly gay African American actor to win an Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category for Pose.
Besides that It was indeed a special night for Game of Thrones when the 10 nominated actors took center-stage for a final homage to one of the greatest series ever made. Game of Thrones won two awards tonight. Peter Dinklage was awarded Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series whereas the show won Outstanding Drama Series.
Other than this, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss thanked George R.R. Martin, the cast and crew for their persistent hard work throughout the eight seasons.
