As Bollywood is gearing up for Ranveer Singh another heart winning performance as Indian cricket captain, who won the 83 world cup. His wife and beloved Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone speaks on Ranveer Singh’s ’83 movie. She expresses, “Honestly speaking, I’ve always enjoyed playing characters that take a lot out of me, emotionally. Besides her roles, actress has desired to do a lighter role since she has constantly been doing intense characters. And Deepika gets that role in her husband Ranveer Singh, ’83.
In the past few years, the actress has played many emotionally-charged characters like Rani Padmini in Padmaavat or Mastani in Bajirao Mastani. Her next, Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak has her playing an acid-attack survivor. But now, due to Kabir Khan-directed ’83, she is experiencing some easy moments as well.

While, talking about her experience of filming 83, she said, “I’ve always enjoyed playing characters that take a lot out of me, emotionally. Even in 83, there are extreme highs and lows that Romi also goes through in the journey towards Indian cricket team creating history by winning the world cup.”
Actress further said, “But the film also,although briefly, explores lighter moments between Romi and her husband [Kapil Dev]. So, in that sense, you can say that it has been [a] lighter [part] emotionally,” she added.
In the film ’83, Deepika will be essaying the role of Romi Bhatia, the wife of ex-cricketer, Kapil Dev, who captained the Indian cricket squad in the 1983 world cup.
